'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith resumes contest with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he reminisces about the nail-biting dying seconds of his team's stunning fightback win against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. That match culminated with Galbraith temporarily wearing a fan's glasses after the pitch-side pile-on.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a powerful strike from distance, and his teammate promptly slammed home the rebound before racing off toward the home end to revel in the moment, with supporters swarming the players.

Stunning Reversal

This capped an incredible turnaround given the team had found themselves down 2-0 midway through the latter period. In the celebrations, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a supporter sort of calling out and Josh Key and I were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're individuals, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The victory secured a upcoming match at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. Galbraith had a prime vantage point when Orient took the lead in stunning style, with the attacker's first-time shot from about way out going in via the crossbar and the City goalkeeper. It seems unfair that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've credited him for taking the effort on from that far out," stated Galbraith, who started in midfield before moving to right flank after the team changed shape. That meant competing with the England international, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the attacker was among the City players who praised the way the underdogs played positively.

Guardiola's System

"Athletically they are outstanding but even the fundamentals and basic skills, they can just execute repeatedly," the midfielder notes. "It appears that they always find their target and they are adept at manage and neutralize a game. You can think you're doing well and then without warning they will just fizz a pass past your midfield without you even seeing. You have to be alert throughout of the game. It takes a resilient mindset and attention just to keep pace."

Welsh Transition

The club were keen on Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to bring him in in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He became a favorite as a crowd pleaser across multiple campaigns at Orient and has rapidly done the same in Wales. At his previous team he reunited with his former manager, who earlier gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in senior football on loan at his loan club from Manchester United. Then came a spell at fourth-tier Salford, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Development Path

"I was probably a slightly green going into men's football. I think a lot of players would say under-23s football is very different. Sometimes it appears the ball is moved without real physicality. There's not many tackles or duels. Once you start playing first-team football you have to adjust fast."

National Team Success

He has shown that growth for both domestically and internationally, performing well for the Green and White Army, who could still reach the World Cup next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has been selected in the recent fixtures, including two matches games against the German national team. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's ex- international manager, paid him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he controls possession and his ability to spot a game-changing assist.

Humble Beginnings

This represents a remarkable path for the youngster from the neighborhood in his hometown, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who grew up watching his parent, his father, also a midfielder, play for a local club.

Manchester United Experience

The player's sole appearance for Manchester United came in Central Asia in 2019, a continental tournament trip to Astana, where they featured on an plastic turf and the venue ceiling was sealed owing to temperatures of -15C. "That proved to be a lengthy journey and it was freezing," he recalls, chuckling. "The week before, several youth players and I trained together, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to join the main group and make an appearance at the end was incredible."

Leaving United

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he transferred from aged 16? "The decision proved quite easy, because I arrived at the moment where I knew I wasn't going to make it at first-team level. I'm extremely thankful for the years at the club but it got to the point where I believed I needed to go my own route, move to a lower level and play professional soccer. Now I'm gradually climbing the ladder."

Life in Swansea

It is the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has a commitment at the early evening: a road rules assessment, another progress toward getting on the road. Before his recent move to his new neighborhood, the young professional was a frequent passenger in Swansea's dubbed team minibus, a team vehicle driven by team personnel, the drivers, which transports players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"It's myself a teammate, the Brazilian, an Ivorian player – a former passenger used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's pleasant to spend time with the guys but I'm hoping to be the subsequent individual to stop using the bus and driving. His teammate likes to pull a few pranks; he's constantly causing mischief."

Fan Interactions

While playing for Orient, Galbraith would mix with followers on the Tube after beginning his trip at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
